It’s time for a hot tub

We have certainly been very lucky with the summer weather. In fact, the Met Office has said that 2018 could be our hottest summer on record!

With this amazing hot weather, it has been an extremely busy time for us at the Hot Tub and Swim Spa Centre. Some people say that it is too hot for hot tubbing which is one of those myths as you have full control on the temperature.

Here are our top tips to get the maximum use from your hot tub during the summer

  1. Reduce the temperature down from the normal 38 degrees and enjoy the wonders of a hot tub. If you want a relaxing experience in your hot tub during the day, try turning the temperature down to 35 degrees Celsius or even lower. Anything lower than your average body temperature, which is 37 degrees, will feel relaxing, even during the hottest days.
  2. Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of fresh, cold water beforehand. Keep a bottle of water by the hot tub and drink while soaking, as well.
  3. Give yourself a bit more protection by adding some shade to your hot tub set-up.
  4. Take an early evening dip! Once the sun has set, you can be sure you’ll be better protected from the elements as you enjoy your soak and with mood lighting you can create a lovely ambience. You could also do some star gazing.

We also wanted to cover off another myth this month. It relates to the cost of running a hot tub. We get a number of enquiries relating to this subject with many people having pre-conceived answers that hot tubs are far too expensive.

As an example, if you maintained water temperature of 38°C, the average weekly electricity running cost starts from £20 to £40 per month. For imported, low quality hot tubs this could increase to as much as £100 per month.

All of our tubs are eco-friendly using state-of-the-art heatlock systems. This means they are the most efficient and very economical to run.
